While Francine collected antiques for the homes and museums, Salmon moved up from making model boats and cars to collecting and building the big ones. There was never a shortage of "projects" around Salmon. He loved to build and collect things. He added collecting, polishing, and cutting rocks and stones to his list of hobbies later in life as well. Some of the cars in the garage were family cars, while other were collected.
